Esashi Jinku English Lyrics 江刺甚句踊り英訳

Thanks to Andrew Hardwick, Esashi Jinku notes are available in English, but there is no English translation of the lyrics yet. Here's my attempt.

Since Esashi Jinku has similar lyrics to many other traditional folk songs of Japan, many are taken from prior works. [Embree 1998] [Hughes 2008] [Yusa 2012]

一、甚句踊りは　かどまで来たや　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
jinku odori wa kado made kita ya
Jinku Odori passed my house

　　じいさま出てみろ　アリャ孫つれて　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
jii sama dete miro arya mago tsurete
Come out, grandfather
With your grandchild

二、この家座敷は　めでたい座敷　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
kono ya zashiki wa medetai zashiki
This house, this parlor is an auspicious parlor

　　鶴と亀とが　アリャ舞い遊ぶ　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
tsuru to kame to ga arya mai asobu
Crane and Tortoise cavort

三、甚句踊らば　品良く踊れ　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
jinku odoraba shina yoku odore
If you dance jinku, dance with grace

　　品の良いのを　アリャ嫁にとる　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
shina no yoi no o arya yome ni toru
The most gracefully will become my bride

四、めでたうれしや　思ふことかのうた　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
medeta ureshi ya omou koto kanouta
I'm glad my wishes came true

　　四つのすみから　アリャ黄金わく　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
yotsu no sumi kara arya kogane waku
Gold comes from the four corners

五、甚句踊りの　江刺の里は　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
jinku odori no esashi no sato wa
Esashi village of Jinku Odori is

　　味がじまんの　アリャ米どころ　（チョイサノサッサ　チョイサノサッサ）
aji ga jiman no arya kome dokoro
A good rice-producing area
